The Big Day of Giving 2021
Thursday, May 6th, 2021

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!
The Big Day was a success! Our original goal was $20,000 and we surpassed it, so we upped the goal about mid-day to $33,000.
The gifts donated will increase our ability to positively impact more children, youth and families in the Sacramento Region this year. Our goal is to recruit more families, find placements for more children and youth and continue our work in stabilizing families, decreasing the need to move and disrupt the lives of children and youth in our community.

At FosterHope Sacramento we aim to change the trajectory of the lives of children, youth and families in the foster care and juvenile justice systems, who have been impacted by trauma. With your support during the Big Day of Giving on May 6, we can increase our impact in this community.
Your donation of any amount will help FosterHope Sacramento reach more children and families this year.
Our goals for 2021 are to provide support to more than 200 children and youth through our foster care, juvenile justice, peer-to-peer mentoring, and Creating Communities programs. Our work is focused on individualized support for children, youth, and their caregivers to overcome traumas from their past and assist them in reaching their full potential.

“Loved how the community came together and helped bring to life an area for families to enjoy their time together!!” – Julie Deschenes

What is Big Day of Giving?
Big Day of Giving is a once-annual 24-hour giving challenge to help over 700 local nonprofits raise funds to make a difference in the Sacramento region. It is the culmination of an entire year’s worth of community-building and collaboration led by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation and made possible by donors and community partners like you. To learn more about Big Day of Giving, visit www.bigdayofgiving.org.

“Love this agency. I would say this is a home for life for my family. We have adopted 3 children and fostered 40 children through this agency. This made the staff an extension of our family and the other foster parents extended family as well. We retired from fostering but continue to be an active member in their community.” – Douglas Brown Jr
How Can I Help?
Give
You can donate by visiting www.bigdayofgiving.org/fosterhope on Thursday, May 6, and making a gift with a credit or debit card. Donations as little as $15 make a big difference, and your gifts can help us win some of the prizes that are up for grabs! (If you would like, starting Thursday, April 22, you can schedule your gift in advance of Big Day of Giving, just so you don’t forget!) If you donate in a loved one’s honor, the website will send that person an email to let them know.

Create
Rally your networks to give during Big Day of Giving with a fundraising page! Starting April 12, click the “Fundraise” button on FosterHope’s Sacramento’s profile at www.bigdayofgiving.org/fosterhope and build a page to encourage your friends to give, too. Share the link with your friends and family, so their gifts contribute to your campaign!
Match
You can lead the way for our community by making a matching donation, dollar for dollar up to a designated amount. This encourages other donors as the money they donate doubles on the Big Day. Whether it’s $250 or $2,500 in matching funds, every amount will help. You can also ask your employer to contribute a match to the FosterHope’s Big day event, this is a great way to get colleagues and your business involved.

Share
Let your networks know that you support our cause by sharing our posts on your social media accounts, or by creating and sharing a fundraising campaign. A good word from a supporter like you is the most meaningful way for us to spread our mission.
